Dykstra Racing was first established in 1992. We have been a hard-working crew that has stayed together throughout many good and challenging times. After winning the 2007 DIRTCar Sportsman championship, it was decided a change was in order. After a long deliberation process the decision to move to the Sprint Car division was made. Our rookie year was 2008. This was a completely new endeavor to us and so it was a steep learning process. Everything in the 2008 season was meant to get a strong foothold in the division to enter 2009 ready to challenge with the best. We had a successful season and were set on the goal of the 2009 season championship. Unfortunately a string of bad luck and some accidents relegated us to a 4th place final standing in the championship. On a bright note, we won our first qualifying and main events and held some excellent events with our partners.
A lot has been done to set us up to achieve this goal in 2009 and maintains at the forefront of the team mindset heading into the years to come. The team and driver were outfitted with complete professional uniforms and a brand new car and engine have been ordered with a race ready spare available. Furthermore, a data management and analysis system has been developed to assist us. The team has also participated in a team development and chassis seminar. For 2010, a new car is ideal and continuing to develop relationships with the people who support us and lead the way in promoting our sport in a professional manner both on and off the race track.
